Kaleidoscopic

Dec.12, 2008, filed under Miscellany

I’m working from home today as a result of my still-dodgy digestive system making riding to work very tiring (my car is awaiting garage treatment after someone ran into it on Sunday night).

Taking a break from the serious stuff (well, everyone in the office is away for their Christmas meal about now, to which I was supposed to be going but can’t, as the only substances I can keep down are boiled rice and tea/coffee/boiled water) I mosied on over to world outside the dayjob, where, pointed at Alternative Culture mag Coilhouse by a twittering Warren Ellis (of The Authority), I found myself captivated by a strange music video.

The song is called Souvenir de Chine and it’s by a Swiss pair called Larytta. Sounds like it was made on some sort of 70s harmonium, which means it was probably created on a computer and kurreltheraven is already trying to produce something better on his Commodore 64 array. The video is by Körner Union who, from their website, are a couple of acorns short of a squirrel’s winter larder. Or, at least, have the sort of sense of humour that would make Frood grin.

Also, my friend Rupert liked it.
