Making a krilling
Mar.09, 2002, filed under Miscellany

I’m afraid that Blogger was down yesterday, so I couldn’t post anything. Here’s what was to be the first offering of the day:
Today’s first stop, the BBC, brings us to this report about scientists finding that there is far more krill down in the Antarctic than had previously been thought. What really gets me about this is that they used a £5 million machine called Autosub to discover this. Do you know what Autosub runs on? Torch batteries. I’m wondering if those are recyclable D-cells.
That fantastic picture comes from Mare Nostrum.
Incidentally, I’ve started opening the links in a separate window. If you prefer it the other way, mail me and I’ll see if I can find out how you do that little check box so that you can choose whether they open in a new window or not.
