Mayburgh Henge is near Penrith, Cumbria, and has recently become the source of much controversy after the Eden Arts Council thought it would be a good idea to stick a granite obelisk covered in Christian symbolism nearby to mark the Millenium. You can find out more at The Stone Circles of Cumbria (good on you, Justin).
William Stukely reported four standing stones in the circle, although now only one of nine feet remains standing. The circle is made up of small boulders. Nearby is King Arthur's Round Table, which is a more typical henge. Nicholas Thomas' Prehistoric England says that there were two standing stones outside the northern entrance until the 17th century. The whole site was used as a tea garden for many years.
Again, Andy Burnham has photos at http://easyweb.easynet.co.uk/~aburnham/eng/mayb.htm, as does Chris Tweed at http://www.henge.demon.co.uk/cumbria/mayburgh.html, and Alistair McIvor at http://www.magma.ca/~alnal/stones/maybur0.htm.
