This is a single standing stone not far outside of Craighouse on Jura. Although I was there at the time, I didn't go as far as the stone. Next time I'm out there, probably this year, I'll see if I can find out more about it.

| And they said: | Uncommunicative at first, but eventually quite chatty. |
| Comments: | Was only there for a short while as we were losing the light and had to get back to the boat. Seemed cheerful, in as much as that is relevant in a place where the Land is so raw. Impression of connectivity between the stones on Jura and other islands: an archipelago of interface as well as the more obvious physical archipelago, but the interface served to draw attention to the relationships, not give access to them - that was already present and undeniable. Stone was set in a clearing in a plantation forest. Other than the burned-out trucks on the forest road (!) the site was pristine. For reference, the stone was a Callanish style slender, tapered affair about 6-7' tall. |
