Coldrum is near the Pilgrim's Way, at the edge of Ryarsh Wood. The remains of 22 people were discovered in the chamber, and one skull had been placed on a shelf. In the 1974 Antiquities of Cornwall William Borlase described the name Coldrum as a mutation of the Cornish word Galdrum, which means "Place of Enchantments".
