The pain is dreadful at the moment. I had to take Frood to casualty with anaphylaxis last night, and sitting in the cubicle for 4 and a half hours was so painful that by the end I was practically beating my head against a wall. I cam very close to barging into the nurse's area and pleading with them to give us Frood prescription and take the needle out of his arm so that I could get home and take some painkillers.
I am incredibly stiff. I don't have the full range of movement in my hips. My shoulders have locked solid and I can't move my head properly. Every step is rather like walking on tacks, or having someone hammer at the soles of my feet so that the shock goes up through the bones, or both. I could swear I am changing shape into this wizened, hunched, shrunken figure because all my muscles are tightening up.
I'm very tired at the moment, but still waking up early. I was up three times last night getting more water. I have started waking up during the night again, after perhaps a couple of weeks of sleeping right through from about 1 - 2am to 5 - 6am, which has been nice. Dreams are still very intense and I'm finding it harder to stay in bed when the pain is really bad because I am getting more and more frustrated and restless at having nothing constructive to do.
