The weather is peculiar today. It’s dark, very dark and sort of glum looking. Eerie. I know we’re coming up for Solstice but it hasn’t got light today and we’re in Devon. It was quite sunny yesterday. It looks like it’s about to snow but I’m told that we don’t get snow down here. The lack of decent seasons is almost enough to make me want to move all by itself.

The car failed its MOT. Badly. Wouldn’t be much of an issue, only Frood still hasn’t managed to find a job in Exeter so is still travelling to Taunton every day. Taking the train is not an easy thing at this time of the year, he’s on Christmas hours at Oddbins (is that site any better yet?) Not sure whether or not I’m going to make it up to Rollright for the 21st either. I have a lot planned for this coming weekend, and I may not have recovered or assimilated sufficiently to do the job I’d be up there to do. Besides which, Frood can’t make it because of the hours he’s working at Solstice and I really don’t want to be apart from him for Winter Solstice. We never have been apart for Winter Solstice and I don’t see any reason to start now. Apart, of course, from the fact that Bling will be over and I suspect she’ll get ever so cross if I don’t turn up. She’ll think I don’t love her any more or some such rubbish. I’ll have to see how I feel closer to the time, I suspect. It would be a(nother) terribly long weekend and I can’t really afford the train fare.

Got to think of some stocking fillers for himself and Andy. We have all the main gifts already - we’ve gone a bit overboard this year because we don’t have all our friends around us and plans for pubbing and Christmas Eve parties and so forth like last year. I’m working til 5 on Christmas Eve to make up the flexi so I can have 2 days off over Hogmanay - Nick is coming down. Wahey! Can’t wait for that. It would be ever so cool if he and Frannie could be down at the same time.

Hurt my finger last night. Been taking quite a lot of nocturnal injuries recently - only this one happened while I was awake, I just didn’t notice. I may have broken/chipped the bone in the joint though, from the look of it. Gods’ only know how that happened. One minute it was fine, the next minute it was swollen up like a sea cucumber.

I’m just rambling, really. Nothing incisive to say, to be honest. Too much work to do. Speaking of which, lunch time is over.
